Jennifer Harley

Senior Solicitor 

Jennifer is part of the Commerce Compliance team, where she specialises in dealing with prosecutions brought on behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (particularly the Companies Office and the Official Assignee), Worksafe New Zealand, and the Financial Markets Authority. Jennifer is also involved in prosecutions brought on behalf of the SPCA. 

She has been involved in finance company prosecutions, including Bridgecorp Finance Limited, Nathans Finance Limited, and ongoing work in the claims pursuant to the Securities Act 1978 against Hanover Finance Limited and related companies. 

Jennifer is also involved in criminal prosecutions, undertaking work under the Crown Solicitor's warrant, in the District Court and Youth Court jurisdictions.

Acted in a prosecution under the Corrections Act 2004 for introducing contraband items to a sentenced prisoner in the Mount Eden Correctional Facility (Department of Corrections v Murray).

Acted in a criminal prosecution in relation to the supply of Class A controlled drug, methamphetamine (R v Makanesi).

Acted in the criminal prosecution of three offenders with regard to an aggravated robbery (R v Tuikolovatu & Ors).
