About
Marcus specialises in employment law, having worked in MC’s employment team since he joined as an intern in 2021. Marcus also regularly represents the Crown on a range of criminal matters in the District Court.
Before joining MC, Marcus studied at the Auckland University of Technology, where he studied both law and New Zealand Sign Language. During his studies he volunteered with a Community Law Centre.
Recent Cases & Achievements
Marcus’ Honours dissertation was titled “Deaf People’s Access to Court Proceedings in Aotearoa New Zealand”, which explored the experiences of Deaf defendants facing criminal proceedings in New Zealand’s courts and identified avenues for improvement to the accessibility of the court system for Deaf people.
