Nastassia assists in prosecuting criminal proceedings, and is involved in commercial proceedings for MC’s government clients, including Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities.

Prior to joining MC, Nastassia worked as a legal intern for a well-known boutique public law firm, and subsequently a public law chambers. 

Recent Cases & Achievements

Nastassia’s Honours dissertation was ‘Legal Personhood: the best protection for animals’.  This paper undertook an analysis of whether legal personhood should be granted to animals in New Zealand, in light of New Zealand’s agriculturally dominated economy. 

Nastassia was awarded the Simon Berry Prize in Privacy Law 2022 for her Honours research paper. The prize was awarded to the student who achieved the highest mark in the specific public law course. Nastassia’s research paper was ‘The Right to Erasure: a case study on adult film entertainers’. In recognising that no one is able to outrun their digital past, this case study undertook an analysis of the current privacy protections the law provides adult film entertainers that wish to have their personal information removed from search engines.
