About
Renee has experience prosecuting both criminal and regulatory offences on behalf of the Crown.
Alongside her studies, Renee has interned at MC, the Public Defence Service and at a large international commercial firm, before joining the Crown office in 2022. She was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Auckland for criminal law for several years.
Recent Cases & Achievements
University of Auckland Senior Scholar Award (Faculty of Law)
Renee’s Honours dissertation discussed sentencing young adult offenders from care and protection backgrounds. This dissertation has been adapted into an article published in the Public Interest Law Journal in 2023
Her Honours research paper examined placing a cultural lens on primary victims of intimate partner violence in the increasingly diverse Aotearoa New Zealand
